Why Teens Do Not Plan the Air and Water Show

The clouds and rain came and went today but Kent and I saw a truncated version of the Chicago Air and Water Show.

I was thankful that no one crashed.

I don’t think my heart would keep beating if any of those pilots were my children.

Kent got some good videos of the action on his new birthday camera.

However, he thought the show would have been better if the pilots would shoot some birds while doing their stunts and drop a small bomb into the water in front of us.

I remember an air show here when I was little and they kept calling over the PA system for someone to remove their car from where it was double parked and then after half an hour of this a big helicopter hauled a car out to sea and dumped it in the ocean... I bet Kent would have loved that!

I know they are highly trained pilots but I wouldnt be able to watch those shows if I had a kid in one of the aircraft!

Oh my goodness! I cannot wait to tell Kent that story! He would have loved it! Me, too . . . as long as it was not my car. :-) Thanks!

I agree with Kent! Mix it up a little bit! Drop a few birds and bomb! Come on, Grandma!

Ahh This brought back memories of when my older childrens grandparents took them to see the Air and Water show downtown! It was probably 25 years ago, I wonder if they remember? I myself have never went but have been to Venetian Night. I wonder if they still do that.

Brenda...I'm sure the show was very exciting...I run to to look at anything that's loud and flying over my house...You and Kent have the same smile Brenda!

LOL. Boys, bombs. bullets and jets! There for sure would be a bigger crowd watching. Looks like a fun day. I love feeling the power of the jets. Amazing. Dee

I love air shows....I don't think one ever gets too old to enjoy them! They are awesome to watch...but I still hold my breath each time I see the planes pass.
Hugs and love to you from Jackie

Hello! I popped over from Mummy McTavish's blog. I saw your post title on her page and thought it was cute.

I am sure that my teens would love a bit more action at those things as well (as long as noone got hurt).

I'm with you. I'd probably pass out if my kids were up there flying around!
