Yesterday's Treasures

I remind myself that I have not looked at these things one time since my marriage to Bob 15 years ago.

But I did so love being a Mom!

As did my Mother . . .

As did Dale's Mom

This is tough stuff . . . growing old . . this cleaning out mandate.

Yesterdays Treasures are Tuesdays Trash

One of the blessings of moving so many times, I think. Several moves ago, I boxed stuff up belonging to our children and let THEM deal with it. Everything from baby books to toys to grade school yearbooks to Christmas ornaments...The exercise DOES bring back all kinds of memories, doesn't it?

Yes, that is a good plan, Rebecca. Actually, these things never meant much to the boys. They were more my memories. I believe more and more in the "If-you-can't-display-it-don't-keep-it" philosophy. There are a couple of things that I am still holding on to because I have to get rid of things in layers. My sons have already gone through their things and kept the important things--like signed baseballs and baseball cards and a few cassette tapes and VHS videos, and yearbooks. I gave them their Christmas ornaments but those have been "misplaced" and that is fine with me. They are creating their own memories, each with his wife and kids. I would not want it any other way. We have been so blessed.

I remember this stuff. Thanks. Ugh. What will we do with *our* kids' stuff?--and they are only 6, 3, and 1? Yes, good memories and we do still use the Christmas ornaments.
